After purchased Windows Vista from Windows Marketplace and download it instead if “Buy and ship”. It might cost you more and must wait for the delivery. After download the Windows Vista, before make windows vista dvd bootable there are 3 files extension which is:
1. boot.wim (116.31 MB)
2. X13-49120.exe (73.76 MB)
3. install.wim (2.25 GB)
After finish download the 3 files for many days (in my country, maybe it’s only a few hours in your country), you can make your own Bootable Windows Vista DVD from it.
Here is the step to make Windows Vista ISO DVD:
1. Put all the 3 files (install.wim, boot.wim and executable X13-49120.exe) in the same folder (let asume it’s place on C:\ drive)
2. Klik twice or run the X13-49120.exe and Windows Vista Setup Preparation wil create a new folder name “Vista” and inside of the folder there’s all necessary Windows Vista Setup which take up arround 2.52 GB disk space.
3. Exit from the Windows Vista Installation screen.
4. Download the CDimage v2.52
5. Extract it to C:\ directory
6. Open the command prompt shell, or you can type “cmd” on Start==> Run, and type the following command:
cdimage.exe -lVISTA_EN_DVD -m -u2 -bC:\Vista\boot\etfsboot.com C:\Vista\ C:\Vistax86.iso
7. It’s take 10 minutes to create a Windows Vista x86 DVD ISO image (Vistax86.iso files) in UDF format on the C:\ root directory or any folder you specified above.
8. Burn the Vistax86.iso files with your favourite CD/DVD burning software, I usually use Nero Burning Rom.
Before you burn, it’s advisable to make sure “Verify” is checked and select the slowest write speed or will fail to make windows vista dvd bootable. This will ensure you have a good Windows Vista DVD and don’t get stuck in the process burning the Windows Vista iso image.
